Furthermore, such issues have more direct effects on human life. Industrial pollution is known to cause numerous cancers and birth defects, and deforestation is a major contributor to climate change and soil erosion that can affect where people are able to live. For these reasons, I believe that there are other environmental issues which should be resolved before we attempt to save specific plant and animal species.

It is my opinion that the environment would be far better preserved if human destruction, such as pollution and deforestation,was addressed first, as it would preclude the need to save animal and plant species.
