考研英语必背 篇一

Directions: You live in a room in college which you share with another student. You find it very difficult to work there because your roommate always has friends visiting and has parties in the room.

Write a letter to the Accommodation Officer at the college and ask for a new room next term. You would prefer a single room. Explain your reasons.

Dear Sir or Madam,I am writing to express/air dissatisfaction/disappointment/concern regarding accommodation. I would prefer to move into a single room next semester, as I find the present sharing arrangement inconvenient.

I must explain that the reason for my dissatisfaction is my roommate’s inconsiderate behavior. For one thing, his friends are constantly visiting him; for another, he regularly holds noisy parties.

To solve this problem/surmount this difficulty/improve this situation/crack this hard nut, I hope to draw the attention of the authorities concerned. I am sure you will agree that the only solution for me is to move into a room of my own. Therefore, I would be grateful if you could find a single room for me, preferably not in the same building but as near to the college campus as possible.

Yours sincerely,

Li Ming

考研英语话题作文 篇二

Dear Sir or madam,

I am the chairman of the Student Union of Tsinghua University, and our union is organizing a social survey project on Chinese history. So it’s necessary for us to have a visit to your historical exhibition to get some material about the local tradition. I would be grateful if you could supply me with the following information.

Firstly, I need detailed information concerning the contents of the exhibition, for example, what’s the theme of the exhibition? Secondly, I would also like to inquire if there is any discount available on the entrance tickets for students. About 100 students will take part in the visit, and I would appreciate it if you could give us discount.

Thank you for your time and consideration, and I am looking forward to your reply at your earliest convenience.

Sincerely yours,

Li Ming

考研英语作文 篇三

A famous teacher was speaking to the students at our school. He began his lesson by holding up a 100 bill. Then he said to the three hundred students, “Who would like this 100 bill?” The students began to put up their hands at once.

Then he said, “I am going to give this 100 to one of you, but first, let me do this.” He then made the bill into a ball. Then he said, “Who wants it now?” The hands went back into the air.

“Well,” he said, “What if I do this?” and he dropped it on the floor and stepped on it. He picked up the dirty, crumpled bill and said, “Who still wants it?” Hands went back into the air.

“My friends,” he said, “you have learned a valuable lesson today. No matter (无论) what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not go down in value (价值). It was still worth l00!”

Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and stepped on by the chances we take and the things that happen to us. We feel as if we are worth nothing. But remember, no matter what has happened to you, you will never lose your value: you are always valuable to those people who love you. Your value doesn’t come from what you do or whom you know, but WHO YOU ARE.

You are special and valuable. Don’t ever forget it!
