学英语首先要认识单词，因此背单词是首要前提。背单词我们应该要用口边说边记，这样效果好，不仅大脑能产生印象而且在念得时候我们嘴巴肌肉也有记忆的功效。
背单词我们可以看书本，可以用手机的软件，如百词斩，知米等等，也可以把难记的单词记在纸片上然后的时候进行巩固。
单词背的同时我们也要进行听力训练，听力空闲时间多，精力旺盛时可以进行精听，在较忙时，可以进行范听。
听力也好或背单词也好，不要半途而废。要循序渐进，遵循遗忘规则。
背单词也要学会应用，看阅读理解。我们应该将快读和慢读结合起来。对于超长篇的文章可以采取快速阅读，理解其大意。对于短篇的文章可以进行精读，尽量努力去理解每句的意思。不懂就多翻翻词典。
